A relatively new university with little recognition and no cohesive brand or voice, CSUMB asked StudioELREY to develop a series of prospective and new student communications that would differentiate the school from other CSUs in the system and other universities in the area.

We leveraged CSUMB’s unique coastal location on a former military base with a rich history, as well as the school’s commitment to engaging students in community service. Building on this identity, we created a series of ads, view books targeting transfer students and first-time freshmen, as well as a general overview piece that captured the voice and unique attributes of the university. CSUMB saw an increase in applicants and enrolled students following the launch of these materials.
